    Sailing
    Sunday on Raritan Bay
SET SAIL WITH SWISS SKI CLUB
October 6th, from 10:30 am – 5:00 pm (approximate end time)

We are very fortunate to have a friend of the club who welcomes us on his sail boat “Harm’s Way.”

We’ll meet at the Raritan Yacht Club (160 Water Street, Perth Amboy, New Jersey -   GPS ADDRESS IS 185 Front Street, Perth Amboy,) at 10:30AM.  When you arrive at the front of the Club, drive around to the back to the boatyard at the south end of Front Street. Wait for the whole group before heading out to the boat!

How to get there: There is free parking for all drivers. You can also take, NJ Transit from NY Penn Station to Perth Amboy.

What to wear: Dress for the forecast weather! Likely shorts and a light jacket, soft soled shoes, preferably with light colored soles (black soles may leave scuff marks).  Bring a hat, preferably one with a chin strap.

What should you bring? There will be bottled water on board, but pack a sandwich and any snacks, chips/pretzels for yourself and mark the bag with your name.  Bring soda or beer (or wine) for yourself in metal/plastic cans/containers. Any bags should have a zipper closer to keep contents from spilling out. Don’t forget sun screen & sunglasses!

What NOT to bring? Your favorite hat – it might blow off in the wind! Dark soled shoes, thong or high heeled shoes (also, no bare feet please). Your own cooler – ok to bring, but plan to leave it in your car/at the dock – there will be a cooler and ice for everyone’s things on board. Also, no glass containers. There are life jackets on board, so you do not have to bring one.

Jim will need some help operating the boat.  Let him know if you want to help or learn how to sail.  Otherwise you can just lay back and soak up the sun! Members and    Friends and Newcomers welcome!

FYI!!! Captain Jim likes Sourcream and Onion Potato Chips and Black Cherry Soda

Please email events@swissskiclub.org with any questions. This trip is limited to 8 people only. So please do not sign up until you are 100% sure that  you can join.  Your registration is not confirmed until it's approved by the organizer.

    Sea you on the water!

Fall Work Weekend and Oktoberfest in Vermont
    October 11th - 14th
Our lodge needs tender loving care to stay beautiful, and as a volunteer organization, we provide the labor ourselves. Columbus Day Weekend was great last year.  If you're ready to roll up your sleeves and get down and get dirty, we can accomplish a great deal. Many hands make light work.

When our work day is done … we have fun.

We do have improvements and general maintenance we need to accomplish.  Saturday will be a day of work.  On Saturday evening we will enjoy the Oktoberfest spirit with a BBQ and party at the lodge

Sunday we will enjoy the Oktoberfest celebration that will kick in high gear in the afternoon, including Stowe Foliage Arts Festival featuring live music, great food, draft beer and traditional craftwork.

    Stowe Arts Fest

We hope you can attend to help maintain this beautiful lodge that we all cherish and to join the Oktoberfest celebration!

Lodging and food are free to all participants.
