ABOUT SCHWEITZER

Schweitzer (means "Swiss Person" in German) Mountain is considered one of the best ski resorts in the Pacific Northwest. Nestled in a basin at the base of the foothills of the Selkirk Mountains overlooking Lake Pend Oreille, Schweitzer Mountain offers 2,900 acres of lift accessible in-bound terrain and is renowned for its tree skiing.

Besides its many trails, Schweitzer also offers 32 kilometers (nearly 20 miles) of Nordic trails for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and snow biking.

THE TERRAIN

The Base Elevation for the main village is 4,700 feet and 3,960 feet for the lowest chair. Top elevation is 6,400 feet with 2,400 feet vertical.

With 300” of annual snowfall, Schweitzer's two bowls offer up a wintry mountain playground worth exploring. If you ask a local where they love to ski, you may not find the name on the trail map. While there are 92 named trails on the mountain, some of the best powder stashes can be found in hidden zones amongst the trees or past a certain feature.

The longest run is 2.1 miles (Little Blue Ridge). The best part about skiing at Schweitzer is that there is a groomed intermediate trail off every lift, meaning groups with a variety of ability levels can choose their own adventure and meet back for another lap.

Schweitzer also has an open gate policy for access to out-of-bound terrain that spans over 200 additional miles of the Selkirk Mountains.

THE VIEWS

Schweitzer's views are some of the best in the area. Overlooking Idaho's largest lake, skiing and riding down Schweitzer Bowl offers the ultimate backdrop of Lake Pend Oreille. Looking for the best selfie spot? On a clear day, ride any of the frontside lifts and you have got it. If you head to the summit via the Lakeview Triple or Great Escape, soak in 360-degree views of neighboring mountain ranges in Montana, Washington, and Canada.

THE VILLAGE

Schweitzer's cozy ski-in, ski-out village has everything you need to round out your vacation. With 15 dining options, you are sure to find something to satisfy any palate. Ready to relax or recharge? Head to Cambium Spa for treatment that keeps you fresh for another day on the slopes.
