The building that houses Pete's was built in 1829, and was originally the Portman Hotel; liquor may have been sold there as early as 1851 or 1852 – when it was a "grocery & grog" store – and the first official drinking establishment founded by 1864. It was bought in 1899 by Tom and John Healy, and became Healy's. During prohibition, when selling alcohol was illegal, the bar continued to operate disguised as a flower shop.

Spring Work Weekend at the Lodge

May 1st - 3rd, 2026

Our lodge needs tender loving care.

To stay beautiful, and as a volunteer organization, we provide the labor ourselves.

As always, there will be lots to do and we will have fun doing it!

If you're ready to roll up your sleeves and get down and get dirty, we can accomplish a great deal. Lodging and food is gratis as payment to all participants.

Many hands make light work.

When our work day is done … we have fun.

We do have improvements and general maintenance we need to accomplish. Saturday will be a day of work. On Saturday evening, once the work is complete, we will enjoy a well earned, delicious dinner and fun party at the lodge

Sunday morning, we'll finish up whatever needs to be completed, then enjoy the rest of the day before heading back home.

Whitewater Rafting on the Lehign River in Nesquehoning, PA

Join us for Whitewater Rafting. We will go on the Whitewater Dam Release date. It is a wet and wild 13 mile trip that runs through the breathtaking scenery of the Lehigh Gorge State Park.

Hang on tight and experience the thrill of Class III whitewater.

Plan accordingly for an All-day adventure. WE RAFT RAIN OR SHINE!!!

Time on the Water: approx.4-6 hours (13 miles). Total time is 7-7½ hours

When: Saturday, June 6th Time: Arrive by 10:30 AM

CAMPING and KAYAKING

When: July 24th-26th, Two Nights

2 Days of camping & Kayaking

Join us for two nights of camping on the Delaware River in upstate New York.

We reserved very scenic lots overlooking the Delaware River.

We will cook community meals through the weekend.

Saturday we will go kayaking (or canoeing if you prefer) for 5 miles on the Delaware River.

In the evening we will have BBQ at our camp site.

Sunday we get back on the river again for more fun.

Make sure you bring your own camping gear.

If you don't have your own gear, bring a friend who does or reply to this email. We'll see if we can beg, borrow, or steal what you need.

Emails to organize car pools will be sent on Wednesday or Thursday before.

Refund Policy:

* Full refund minus $50 processing fee if cancelled 21 or more days prior to departure date ($10 processing fee for camping only reservations)

* 50% refund if cancelled 20 to 7 days prior to departure date

* No refund for cancellation less than 7 prior to departure date or no show
